These charts compare the safety of ordinary organic links, relative to search engine advertising, for top searches at major search engines. For each search engine, the left chart gives analysis of the search engine's first page of results (generally ten organic results and up to ten ads), while the right chart analyzes the first five pages of results.
Analysis includes 1,394 distinct keywords obtained from top search data from Google, Yahoo, AOL, Lycos, Wordtracker, and a major US ISP.
In each chart, bars indicate the proportion of sites that were rated red or yellow using SiteAdvisor's standard rating criteria. Narrow bars indicate that most sites are safe; wider bars indicate more numerous safety risks. All data is as of April 2006.
